Traffic Control
Stop Signs
- To have a new stop sign installed at an uncontrolled intersection, a request should be forwarded to the Traffic Operations Division via 311. An employee will then investigate the site to determine if a stop sign is required.
- For information regarding the criteria for the installation of stop signs and all way stops, please refer to the All Way Stop Policy.
Traffic Signals
- To have a traffic signal installed at an intersection, a detailed written request with complete contact information should be forwarded to the Traffic Operations Division via 311. An investigation is then undertaken at the intersection, which includes a warrant study (traffic and pedestrian counts). The warrant study factors are regulated by the Ministry of Transportation Ontario under the Highway Traffic Act regulations. Only if the warrants are met will the location be noted for future budget considerations.
Speeding
- To have speeding in your neighbourhood investigated, a request should be forwarded to the Transportation Planning Division via 311. An employee will then investigate the site. Alternatively, Windsor Police Service should be called and a request for enforcement made.
- For more information, please refer to the Traffic Calming Policy.
Sightline Problems
- To report any sightline problems at an intersection, a request should be forwarded to the Traffic Operations Division via 311. An employee will then investigate the site for an appropriate solution.
