Cheque Information

To obtain more information on the status of your assistance cheque or direct bank deposit (DBD) you may contact the Interactive Voice Response System (IVR) at 1-800-808-2268. The IVR system can be accessed from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm Monday through Friday and 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.

If you are not having your Ontario Works funds directly deposited into your bank account, we strongly urge you to arrange for direct deposit of your monthly assistance. This method of payment is not only more efficient and secure, but it is also a more reliable and timely way for you to receive your funds. Please discuss this option with your caseworker.
