In the Matter of “The Ontario Heritage Act”
And in the Matter of the Lands and Premises at
825 Riverside Drive West, in the City of Windsor, in the Province of Ontario

Take notice that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Windsor at its meeting held September 28, 2026, passed By-law Number 142-2026, “A By-law to Designate the Lands and Premises Situate Within the City of Windsor, Municipally Known as 825 Riverside Drive West to be of Cultural Heritage Value or Interest Under the Provisions of The Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1990/CBC/CKLW Building,” under the provisions of The Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter O.18, as amended.

The CBC/CKLW Building is located at 825 Riverside Drive West in the city of Windsor, at the intersection of Riverside Drive West and Crawford Avenue. Constructed in 1954 for CKLW Radio and Television, the building was a purpose-built broadcasting facility. The building was occupied by CKLW until 1972, after which it continued to be used for media production by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC/CBET). The property has remained in continuous use as a broadcasting and communications facility since its construction, representing the longstanding history of broadcasting in Windsor. The cultural heritage value of the property is embodied in key elements that can be conserved through sensitive integration into future development.
