Huron Church Road Reconstruction

Tecumseh Road West to College Avenue - Project Summary

• Anticipated start date is April 6, 2021, with a 110-day timeline.
• Work will take place 7 days per week and 24 hours per day as necessary to maintain schedule.
• All businesses will be open during construction and access will be maintained at all times.

Stage 1:

• Northbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane, routed on the east side of Huron Church Road, from Tecumseh Road to College Avenue
• Southbound traffic will be reduced to two lanes, routed on the east side of Huron Church Road, from Tecumseh Road to College Avenue
• No left turns will be allowed in the construction zone.
• Access to businesses and Assumption College Catholic High School on the east side of Huron Church will be available, for northbound traffic only, during Stage 1.
• Access to businesses on the west side of the road will not be open to local traffic.
• Access to Millen Street and Girardot Street from Huron Church Road will not be available during Stage 1 of the work.
• Pedestrian crossing shall be available at the signalized intersections of Tecumseh Road and College Avenue, in addition to the pedestrian bridge North of Girardot Street.

Stage 2:

• Once Stage 1 is complete (plus/minus 55 days), traffic will be diverted onto the southbound lanes and the southbound lanes will be reconstructed.
• Northbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane, routed on the west side of Huron Church Road, from Tecumseh Road to College Avenue.
• Southbound traffic will be reduced to two lanes, routed on the west side of Huron Church Road, from Tecumseh Road to College Avenue.
• During this phase, west side Huron Church business access will be available for southbound traffic only.
• Access to Assumption College Catholic High School on the east side will still be only be available via California Avenue.
• Pedestrian crossing shall be available at the signalized intersections of Tecumseh Road and College Avenue, in addition to the pedestrian bridge North of Girardot Street.
