Wyandotte Street Extension / Jarvis Avenue Improvements

The City of Windsor has completed a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Wyandotte Street East Extension and Jarvis Avenue Improvements project. The finalized detailed design for Phase 1 has now been completed, and the project is being advanced toward construction. 

This project will extend Wyandotte Street East and reconstruct Jarvis Avenue to support future growth in the area while improving transportation connectivity, drainage performance, and overall infrastructure resiliency. The project will also provide enhanced pedestrian facilities, roadway improvements, and stormwater management to better serve existing and future residents. 

The project includes reconstruction of Jarvis Avenue with a crowned roadway, mountable concrete gutters, sidewalks, and upgraded underground infrastructure, including sanitary and storm sewer improvements. These improvements will address existing drainage challenges while maintaining the character of the corridor and improving long-term infrastructure performance. 

The Wyandotte Street East Extension will provide a new east-west connection between Banwell Road and Jarvis Avenue, improving access and traffic circulation within the East Riverside area while supporting planned growth and development.

Public Information Centre (PIC):

The City of Windsor will be hosting a public information centre (PIC) for affected property owners and residents to present the finalized design and provide information about the upcoming construction project. 

Project team members will be available to: 

  • Present the finalized road, sidewalk, and boulevard design
  • Discuss how the project may affect adjacent properties (for example, driveways, grading, landscaping)
  • Review the anticipated construction schedule and staging
  • Answer questions and receive feedback
