Bilingualism Hans Hennecke
Hans Hennecke (1903-1966)
Bilingualism, 1965
Marble, 122 x 82 x 60 centimetres
The pale marble of Hans Hennecke’s Bilingualism reflects beautifully off the water in the central fountain of the Queen Elisabeth II Gardens in Jackson Park. The bulk form extends up and out of the water into two tongues. They appear to rise and approach each other gently. The delicate veins of the marble subtly mimic the rippling surface of the water.
