Windsor Earns Environmental A List Recognition for Third Consecutive Year

Published

For the third consecutive year, the City of Windsor has earned a place on the prestigious CDP Cities A List, a global benchmark recognizing leadership in environmental transparency, climate action, and resilience planning. Windsor is among only 120 cities worldwide, and just seven in Canada, to achieve this top score.

To qualify, cities must disclose through the CDP-ICLEI Track platform and meet rigorous criteria, including a city-wide greenhouse gas emissions inventory, a climate risk and vulnerability assessment (CRVA), and a published climate action plan.

Canada’s A List cities for 2025 include Windsor, Burlington, Calgary, Halifax, Montréal, St. John’s, and Vancouver. These cities are setting the pace with integrated climate strategies and leveraging CDP disclosure to guide investment, align with net-zero goals, and strengthen local resilience.

Windsor has reported annually to CDP since 2016 and has consistently scored A minus or higher since scoring began in 2018, maintaining its place at the Leadership level, the highest tier. See the full CDP Scores and A List.
