Transit Windsor Updates Go Live August 31, 2025

Published

September marks the start of Transit Windsor’s busiest season, and with the introduction of 20,000 additional service hours, even more residents are expected to choose Transit as their preferred way to get around.

New Bus Passes

To activate a new card, riders must visit the Downtown Windsor International Transit Terminal (WITT) and purchase one in person with government-issued identification (ID). WITT is open Labour Day, Monday, September 1, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for anyone needing to purchase a new card or renew an existing transit pass.

Planning your Trip and Accessing New Route Information Digitally

Transit Windsor would like to remind riders that on Sunday, August 31, 2025, our updated routes, bus stops, route names, and colour scheme will officially launch across all trip planners, transit apps, and online tools. Because these digital platforms can only support one active route system at a time, the new network will fully replace the current one on that date. Printed copies of the updated Transit Riders Guide are available on all city buses, at the downtown Windsor International Transit Terminal (300 Chatham Street West), and at all Windsor Public Library branches and City of Windsor Customer Care Community Centres

Leading up to the launch, residents and students are encouraged to explore the interactive map, which offers a comprehensive preview of the new system, including route frequencies, stop locations, and connecting routes.

Plan Ahead for a Smooth September Commute

To ensure a successful transit experience, riders are encouraged to follow these tips:

  • Plan your route the night before.
  • Allow extra time and be patient during peak hours.
  • Be courteous and observe designated seating signage.
  • Use apps and online tools to track your bus in real time.
  • Store large items under your seat.
  • Keep backpacks and bags on your lap.
  • Use headphones and keep volume at a respectful level.
