Transit Windsor Completes East End Transit Terminal
Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens; Windsor—Tecumseh Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) Andrew Dowie, members of Windsor City Council and administration gathered to celebrate the completion of the new East End Transit Terminal at 7310 Tecumseh Road East. The project marks another major milestone in the modernization of Windsor's public transit system and was completed within its overall approved budget of $8.1 million.
Supported by investments from the City of Windsor ($3.2 million), the Government of Canada ($2.7 million), and the Ontario Government ($2.2 million), through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP), the project represents a significant investment in public transit infrastructure that will enhance service delivery for residents in east Windsor.
The new purpose-built facility features a main passenger platform with shelters, benches, bike parking, enhanced capacity for existing and future routes, a layover area and dedicated operator facility designed to enhance operational efficiency and improve the rider experience.
All public transit services previously operating at Tecumseh Mall were relocated to the new East End Transit Terminal on Sunday, September 6, 2026, marking an important step in Transit Windsor’s continued investment in infrastructure and customer service. Riders are encouraged to review updated schedules and maps, which include information on revised stop locations.
The new terminal supports Transit Windsor’s broader strategic priorities by improving how transit service is delivered in east Windsor. By relocating bus activity from the Tecumseh Mall parking lot to a purpose-built transit facility, the project supports safer circulation, more efficient operations and a better overall experience for staff and riders. It also improves connections between transit, surrounding neighbourhoods and active transportation networks, supporting the City's broader goals for accessible, connected and sustainable communities.
This marks another major transit infrastructure announcement from Transit Windsor this summer and reflects the value of continued collaboration between the City of Windsor, the Ontario Government, and the Government of Canada.
