Organizers and officials of the 2025 Roseland Responder Golf Classic presented three local charities with cheques for $10,000 each today.

The $30,000 total was raised during the third instalment of a four-year golf series in support of first responders and their charities of choice in the community.

Windsor Police Service (WPS) Chief Jason Bellaire, Windsor Fire & Rescue Services (WFRS) Chief Jamie Waffle and Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Chief Justin Lammers were joined by tournament organizers at Windsor Police Service Headquarters to present cheques to their respective charities:

  • Canadian Mental Health Association - Windsor-Essex County Branch (CMHA-WECB)
  • Windsor Firefighters Benefit Fund
  • Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics (LETR)

Canadian Mental Health Association - Windsor-Essex County Branch

Funds raised for Canadian Mental Health Association - Windsor-Essex County Branch (CMHA-WECB) support ongoing mental health education, training and awareness as part of the Sole Focus Project of the Canadian Mental Health Association. Many sessions are geared toward helping stakeholders like first responders, medical professionals, youth and caregivers.

“Mental health is key to our well-being, and we can’t be truly healthy without it,” said CMHA-WECB’s Chief Executive Officer Nicole Sbrocca. “It involves how we feel, think, act, and interact with the world around us. Mental health is about realizing our potential, coping with the normal stresses of life, and making a contribution to our community.”

Windsor Firefighters Benefit Fund

The Windsor Firefighters Benefit Fund supports their members, individuals and families in need during challenging times, in addition to supporting youth organizations, women’s groups, school programs, various athletic teams, registered charities, and memorials.

Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics

The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics (LETR) engages law enforcement officers worldwide, championing acceptance and inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities, starting first with their own communities.
