Pathway to Potential Launches Neighbourhoods Program to Strengthen Communities Across Windsor-Essex
The Windsor-Essex region’s poverty reduction strategy, Pathway to Potential (P2P), is proud to announce the launch of the Neighbourhoods Program, a new initiative aimed at building stronger, more resilient neighbourhoods in areas experiencing economic hardship and quality of life impacts.
The Neighbourhoods Program supports P2P’s strategic plan by empowering residents, activating local resources, and fostering social capital.
At the heart of the program is the Connected Community Approach (CCA) — a resident-led framework that emphasizes the power of connection and collaboration. Through this approach, residents are placed at the forefront of change-making, supported by community backbone organizations (CBOs), known as neighbourhood leads, who are responsible for implementing the program in their designated areas.
Neighbourhood leads have now been identified in three priority neighbourhoods:
- Ward 2 - West Windsor – United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County
- Ward 3 - Downtown Windsor (west of Ouellette Avenue) – Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative
- Ward 4 - Downtown Windsor (east of Ouellette Avenue) – United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County
The launch of the initiative will take place in each neighbourhood over the coming weeks, where residents will be able to connect with neighbourhood leads and learn how they can get involved in shaping the future of their communities.
