Open Streets Windsor Releases Hub Activity Map and Vehicle Crossing Points

Published

Open Streets Windsor is almost here, and we look forward to welcoming the community out to enjoy our 8-kilometre vehicle-free space on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This annual event, free to all, brings together residents and visitors alike to explore and enjoy the vibrant neighbourhoods that make Windsor unique.

This year, Open Streets Windsor will transform an 8-kilometre stretch of roadway returning to our classic route from Sandwich Town in the west to Ford City in the east. As always, music and activities will line the route, creating a festive atmosphere for all participants.

About Open Streets

Open Streets are unique events that have been held in over 100 cities in North America and involve the temporary closure of roadways to vehicular traffic, allowing people to use them for a host of healthy and fun physical activities like walking, cycling, yoga, dancing, fitness and more.

If you are riding your bike through the route, please be courteous to pedestrians, especially in busier hubs. Consider dismounting and walking your bike through tighter spots, and watch for signage as well, as dismounting will be required within a limited area downtown.
