Open Streets Windsor 2026 East End Edition Celebrates Community, Culture and Wellness!

Published

Join us on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. as Open Streets Windsor returns for its annual celebration of community, culture and wellness, this year with a new format featuring two distinct routes and seven vibrant community hubs throughout Windsor’s east end.

This free, family-friendly event invites residents and visitors to experience Windsor in a unique way as local roadways are transformed into car-free spaces where people can stroll, cycle, rollerblade, gather and explore. Along the routes, music, activities and community programming will create opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to connect and enjoy the neighbourhood.

Two Routes. Seven Hubs. One Great Day.

New this year, Open Streets Windsor will feature two separate routes, offering participants a new way to experience the event. Due to construction along the traditional route, the 2026 event has been reimagined to create two unique routes, while still celebrating seven distinct community hubs.

Each hub will feature community partners offering interactive activities and displays that celebrate health and physical activity, arts and culture, heritage, diversity and community. Whether you choose to explore one route or take in both, there will be plenty to see, do and discover along the way.

Back by popular demand, participants can collect keepsakes at each of the seven hubs. New for 2026, participants can collect stamp stickers featuring artistic renditions of some of Windsor’s iconic landmarks.

With a different sticker available at each hub, participants are encouraged to visit them all and complete their collection. Supplies are limited, so be sure to arrive early and don't miss your chance to collect all seven!

The City of Windsor thanks the Open Streets Windsor title sponsors, St. Clair College and the St. Clair College Alumni Association; as well as hub sponsors Port Windsor, Caesars Windsor, ENWIN Utilities Ltd. and Motor City Community Credit Union. The City also recognizes media sponsors AM 800 CKLW, windsoriteDOTca News, Windsor Star and YourTV for their support.
