City to Host Statutory Public Meeting (Public Engagement #3) for the Walkerville Heritage Conservation District
The City of Windsor will host a statutory public meeting (public engagement #3) for the Walkerville Heritage Conservation District (WHCD) project at Willistead Manor on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The meeting is held pursuant to section 41.1 (6)(b) of the Ontario Heritage Act.
This public engagement event will include a presentation of the final draft WHCD Plan & Guidelines (the Plan) and the final draft property inventory identifying the heritage contribution status of each property within the district. Members of the public are welcome to provide comments either through spoken presentations at the public meeting or through written submissions regarding the proposed WCHD Plan.
This statutory public meeting represents the final public engagement meeting for the project before recommendations are presented to the Development & Heritage Standing Committee (DHSC) and City Council. Written submissions regarding the proposed Heritage Conservation District Plan may continue to be provided to Council at any time before the by-law adopting the Plan is passed.
