City of Windsor Holiday Hours
City of Windsor administrative offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, and Thursday, December 26, 2024, for the Christmas and Boxing Day holidays; and on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, for New Year’s Day. The first meeting of the year for the Community Services Standing Committee (normally first Wednesday of each month) will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 9 a.m.
311 Customer Contact Centre
The 311 Customer Contact Centre's regular business hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday thru Friday; however, due to the holidays, the contact centre will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, 2024; Thursday, December 26, 2024; and Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
311 services and information are also available online and via the Windsor 311 mobile app.
211 Windsor-Essex
The 211 service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to serve residents throughout Windsor and Essex County.
Garbage and Recycling Collections
There will be no residential collection services on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, or Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Residential garbage, yard waste and recycling collection services, including NES day and night collection, will be delayed by one (1) day after the holidays that fall each week during the holiday period. Please refer to your 2024-2025 Waste Collection Calendar or the Recycle Coach App, or visit our Collection Schedule page. Night commercial and weekly recycling collections, are not delayed. Front end loader collection on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, will be rescheduled to Tuesday December 24, 2024, or Thursday, December 26, 2024.
Christmas tree and yard waste collections will take place the week of January 13, 2025, in “A” zones and the week of January 20, 2025, in “B” zones. (Please refer to your collection calendar.)

Public Drop-Off and Household Chemical Waste Depots
The depots located at the northeast corner of Central Avenue and North Service Road East are closed to the public on Tuesday, December 24; Wednesday, December 25; and Thursday, December 26, 2024; and on Wednesday, January 1, 2025; as well as being regularly closed on Sundays.
Parks and Recreation
Our winter 2025 recreation programming session will begin on January 12, 2025. Please visit www.ActiveWindsor.ca or call 519-255-1161 for more details and to register.
Community centres will be closed on December 25, 2024; and January 1, 2025. Please contact your community centre for additional holiday hours.
All rinks and arenas will close at 2 p.m. on December 24, 2024, after which Lanspeary Lions Outdoor Rink reopens for regular rentals on December 26, 2024; and all other arenas reopen December 27, 2024. All community rinks close again at 2 p.m. on December 31, 2024, and reopen January 2, 2025, for regular rentals. The WFCU Centre arena will be open on December 31, 2024, as the Windsor Spitfires take on the Flint Firebirds starting at 2:05 p.m.
The Centralized Registration and Booking Centre will be closed from December 23 to 26, 2024; on December 28, 29, 31, 2024; and January 1 and 4, 2025.

The City of Windsor will be offering a Holiday Camp, December 26, 24, 27, 30, 31, 2024 and January 2 and 3, 2025, at three locations:

WFCU Centre Pool
WFCU Centre will be open regular hours for pool reservations and previously scheduled rentals only, with the exception of the following:
- Closing at 3 p.m. on December 24 and 31, 2024
- Closed on December 25 and 26, 2024; and January 1, 2025
Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre (WIATC)
The WIATC will be open with adjusted hours from December 21, 2024, to January 5, 2025. Please visit www.ActiveWindsor.ca and click on “Swim Schedule” for details. The WIATC will be closed December 25 and 26, 2024; and January 1, 2025.
Adventure Bay Family Water Park
From December 21, 2024, to January 5, 2025, Adventure Bay Family Water Park Presented by WFCU Credit Union will be offering holiday hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with special holiday hours on December 24 and 31, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Adventure Bay Family Water Park Presented by WFCU Credit Union will be closed December 25 and 26, 2024; and January 1, 2025.
Windsor Public Library
Windsor Public Library (WPL) closure dates:
- Wednesday, December 25, 2024: All locations closed.
- Thursday, December 26, 2024: All locations closed.
- Wednesday, January 1, 2025: All locations closed.

Bright Lights Windsor
Bright Lights Windsor is open nightly from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. until January 7, 2025, (including holidays) at Jackson Park, 125 Tecumseh Road East. Admission is free! Check out the ongoing programming at www.BrightLightsWindsor.ca online.
Homelessness & Housing Help Hub (H4)
Programming at 400 Wyandotte Street East (former Windsor Water World) will be open to offer services for people experiencing homelessness during its regular hours of 8 a.m. to 12 midnight daily. Call (519) 253-3806 for more information.
Parking Enforcement
Municipal ticket payment offices will be closed on December 25 and 26, 2024; and on January 1, 2025. Ticket payments may still be made online by visiting the E-Services tab at CityWindsor.ca.
Museum Windsor (Chimczuk Museum and François Baby House)
In addition to being regularly closed on Mondays, holiday hours for the Chimczuk Museum and François Baby House locations are as follows:
Chimczuk Museum – 401 Riverside Drive West:
- Closed December 25, 2024; and January 1, 2025
François Baby House – 254 Pitt Street West:
- Closed December 24 to 26, 2024; and January 1, 2025.
Transit Windsor
Throughout the holiday season, Transit Windsor reminds patrons to check our holiday transit schedule online for details on adjusted holiday bus service. Bus schedules and route maps may be found at www.TransitWindsor.ca online.
There will be no Tunnel Bus service on December 25, 2024, and January 1, 2025.
Transit Windsor customer service located at 300 Chatham Street West will be operating for customer support and sales over the holidays as follows:
- Monday to Friday: 7:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. (except as noted below)
- Saturdays and Sundays: 7:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. (except as noted below)
- Sunday, December 24, 2024: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Christmas (December 25, 2024) and Boxing Day (December 26, 2024): closed
- Sunday, December 31, 2024: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Wednesday, January 1, 2025: closed
