Another Milestone for the City’s Parking App Service

The City of Windsor’s Passport Canada Parking App service is celebrating another milestone. On May 9, 2024, the 750,000th Windsor transaction took place using the app, which has been operating here since December 2018. The milestone transaction occurred at a pay-and-display machine in Lot #21 at Tecumseh Road East and Moy Avenue. 

The customer for the 750,000th app transaction was Mr. Christian Pinard, an area business owner. Christian says he loves the convenience and ease of use of the app and advises all his customers to do the same while visiting his establishment. Mayor Drew Dilkens presented Christian with a commemorative plaque on Wednesday morning. Check out the video of Christian’s presentation from Mayor Dilkens.

Since it was implemented, all of the more than 1,400 street meters and 29 off-street surface lots are included in the app’s service. Both of the City’s parking structures will also be coming online shortly. 

Coordinator of Parking Services Bill Kralovensky is pleased that the number of people using the app continues growing. “Since its implementation, we are happy to report that the number of motorists using Passport to make their paid parking easier continues to grow, as well as the number of businesses using the app,” says Kralovensky. The app is also used by Windsor Regional Hospital’s Ouellette campus as well as the Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare Tayfour campus.
