Adventure Bay Family Water Park Hours Expanding
The momentum generated by the City’s Strengthen the Core: Downtown Windsor Revitalization Plan continues with the exciting news that the hours of operation at Adventure Bay Family Water Park Presented by WFCU Credit Union are expanding this summer.
Starting Saturday, June 29, 2024, Windsor residents and visitors from the surrounding region and beyond will be able to enjoy the chills and thrills at the downtown water park from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm daily through Labour Day weekend.
Adventure Bay and the Natatorium, known collectively as the Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre (WIATC) Presented by WFCU Credit Union, are both located under one roof at 401 Pitt Street West. With the doors first opening in 2014, the state-of-the-art community facility offers programming for residents of all ages and interests.
Adventure Bay has over 35,000 square feet of wild water adventures including three epic waterslides (Master Blaster, Python, and Whizzard), Lazy River, Wave Pool, Splash Zone, and the Flow Rider, along with access to Cannon Cove dry land attraction, and an in-park concessions stand.
The Natatorium side of the facility boasts a 71-metre by 25-metre, 10-lane pool with two moveable bulkheads that allow for multiple configurations to fit the ideal length for any competition or community use. The pool varies in depth from 2 metres to 5.2 metres, and features a moveable floor at the north end which allows for shallower depths and greater accommodation for community programming. The state-of-the-art pool and facility attracts both large and small scale competitive swimming championships, with Olympic hopefuls being chosen and world records being set in its waters.
Over 300,000 people experience the facility annually through community programming that includes learn-to-swim, fit lane swimming and aqua fit as well as the opportunity to participate in competitive swimming and diving through local clubs. Guests can also follow a more unstructured route and simply enjoy some amazing family time, right here at home.
Adventure Bay and the Natatorium are two of ten community recreation centres operated by the City to provide healthy and active living opportunities that improve quality of life for residents, while attracting visitors.
Opportunities for Discounted Access to Adventure Bay
Windsor residents are eligible to receive a minimum 15% discount off General Admission rates at Adventure Bay during select times each day. For up-to-date admission rates, visit www.AdventureBay.ca.
Additionally, the Pathway to Potential (P2P) offers the 90% Recreation Discount fee subsidy, which provides affordable access to recreational, artistic, and cultural programs for Windsor-Essex residents and households living with low income. The program subsidizes eligible residents for 90% off the program registration fee (before taxes). P2P can be used to support visits to Adventure Bay Family Water Park, as well as programming at WIATC.
P2P is a regional strategy, created in part through approval of Windsor City Council, that focuses on essential social investments in residents, neighbourhoods, and the larger community, by providing funding for programming to agencies across the region that support vulnerable youth and families. P2P works with municipal departments to remove accessibility and financial barriers and collaborates with community leaders toward a shared vision of community prosperity. To learn more about program eligibility, please visit the Pathway to Potential section of the City’s website.
As identified in the 2019 Recreation Master Plan: “Recreation is at the heart of a strong community.” WIATC is an integral part of creating vibrancy in downtown Windsor – attracting both residents and visitors alike to the city core.

“Windsor City Council is proud of the downtown Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre and Adventure Bay Family Water Park. This announcement of expanded hours for the water park increases access to this community amenity. This means more opportunities for individuals and families to experience the incredible entertainment side of the facility, even as the competition and programming pool is bursting with back-to-back high-profile swim events drawing participants and spectators from around the world. This facility was built to attract and support this calibre of competitions, flurry of activity, and opportunities for engagement. We are Building Windsor’s Future by investing in the assets and amenities that matter to our overall quality of life, while working to Strengthen the Core to make Downtown Windsor attractive for new investments, new businesses, and new residents. This is fantastic news for our growing community.” - Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens
“This is another great announcement for Downtown Windsor and will have a massive impact on our efforts to Strengthen the Core. The more we add things to do and amazing amenities to explore in the core, the more people we will attract. We’re saying come downtown, spend a day at the water park, visit the Chimczuk Museum and Art Windsor-Essex gallery just a few steps away, head over to the Downtown Windsor Farmers’ Market, enjoy a meal at one of the amazing restaurants nearby, stop in at shops filled with locally made goods. Check out the clubs and coffeeshops and other hospitality offerings. Walk the waterfront. It’s all right here. We have so much to be proud of in our downtown, and this expansion of hours at our water park is a piece of the puzzle for how we bring more people in and breathe new life into this incredible area of our community.” - Councillor Renaldo Agostino, Ward 3
“We've had a busy spring at WIATC, including the 2024 Canadian Diving Trials and the 2024 Speedo Canadian Masters Swimming Championships. We had tremendous feedback from visitors across Canada and the United States who enjoyed all of the amenities Windsor has within walking distance of the competitions. We are thrilled to announce our expanded water park schedule and look forward to welcoming guests downtown for hours of aquatic fun.” - Jen Knights, Executive Director, Recreation and Culture
