2026 Interim Tax Bills in the Mail

Published

City of Windsor 2026 Interim Property Tax Bills have been mailed. If you have not received your tax bill(s) by February 6, 2026, or if you have questions in regard to the amount of the bill, please contact 311 or reach out to propertytax@citywindsor.ca by email.

Your Interim billing amount is set at 50% of your property taxes paid in 2025. Any changes resulting from Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) assessment updates will also be reflected on your tax bill. “2026 Interim Tax Cap Adjustment” reflects any adjustment necessary to meet the 50% limitation. Final 2026 Property Tax Bills (Municipal and Education) will be mailed in June.

Paying Your Taxes

Due dates for regular tax payments are February 18, March 18, and April 15, 2026. Payment must be received by the City on or before the due dates noted. Failure to receive a tax bill does not mean that payment is not due. Penalties and interest (which can add up to 15% of the taxes on an annual basis) will be added for late payments.

Tax payments are accepted through a variety of methods:

  • At an approved bank, credit union or trust company
  • By telephone or online banking
  • By mail (cheques only)
  • At the 350 City Hall Square West 1st Floor drop-off box (cheques only)

The City also offers three pre-authorized payment plans (PAP). Enrolment in a PAP can be completed at any time. Visit the Paying Your Taxes page to access forms.

Some mortgage institutions offer property tax payment services. If you have made arrangements for your mortgage company to pay your property taxes, you will receive a tax bill for your records only. In this case, your billing information has also been sent to the mortgage company for payment. If you have changed or modified your mortgage, please contact your mortgage company. It is your responsibility to ensure the mortgage company continues to remit property tax payments.
