2025 Interim Tax Bills in the Mail

Published

The City of Windsor 2025 Interim Property Tax Bills have been mailed. If you have not received your tax bill(s) by February 3, 2025, or have questions in regard to the amount of the bill, please call 311 (alternate: 519-255-2489) or contact propertytax@citywindsor.ca by email.

Consistent with prior years, the Interim billing amount is approved at 50% of the property taxes paid in 2024. Changes resulting from Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) assessment updates are reflected on the tax bill. An adjustment on the tax bill titled “2025 Interim Tax Cap Adjustment” reflects any adjustment necessary to meet the 50% limitation. Final 2025 Municipal and Education Tax Bills will be mailed in June.

Paying Your Taxes

Interim due dates for regular tax payments are February 19, March 19, and April 16, 2025. Payment must be received by the City on or before the due dates noted. Failure to receive a tax bill does not exempt property owners from paying their taxes. Penalties and interest (which can add up to 15% of the taxes on an annual basis) will be added for late payments.

Tax payments are accepted through a variety of methods:

  • At an approved bank, credit union or trust company
  • By telephone or online banking
  • By mail (cheques only)
  • At the 350 City Hall Square West drop-off box – 1st Floor (cheques only)

The City also offers three convenient pre-authorized payment plans (PAP). Enrolment in a PAP can be completed at any time. Visit the Paying Your Taxes page to access forms. Due dates for each of the PAP plans are as follows:

  • Instalment Date Plan: February 19, March 19, and April 16
  • Mid-Month Plan: February 18, March 17, April 15, May 15, and June 16
  • End-of-Month Plan: February 28, March 31, April 30, May 30, and June 30

Select mortgage institutions offer property tax payment services. If you have made arrangements for your mortgage company to pay your property taxes, you will receive a tax bill for your records only. Your billing information has also been sent to the mortgage company for payment. If you have recently modified your mortgage terms, it is your responsibility to ensure the mortgage company continues to remit property tax payments.
