Paying Your Taxes

Final due dates for regular tax payments are July 16, September 17, and November 19, 2025. Payment must be received by the City on or before the due dates noted. Failure to receive a tax bill does not exempt property owners from paying their taxes. Penalties and interest (which can add up to 15% of the taxes on an annual basis) will be added for late payments.

Tax payments are accepted through a variety of methods:

  • At an approved bank, credit union or trust company
  • By telephone or online banking
  • By mail (cheques only)
  • At 350 City Hall Square West 1st Floor drop-off box (cheques only)

The City also offers three convenient pre-authorized payment plans (PAP). Enrolment in a PAP can be completed at any time. Visit Paying Your Taxes page to access forms. Due dates for each of the PAP plans are as follows:

  • Instalment Date Plan: July 16, September 17, November 19
  • Mid-Month Plan: July 15, August 15, September 15, October 15, November 17
  • End-of-Month Plan: July 31, August 29, September 29, October 31, November 28

Select mortgage institutions offer property tax payment services. If you have made arrangements for your mortgage company to pay your property taxes, you will receive a tax bill for your records only. Your billing information has also been sent to the mortgage company for payment. If you have recently modified your mortgage terms, it is your responsibility to ensure the mortgage company continues to remit property tax payments.
