Road Maintenance
- The City maintains approximately 1,076 kilometres (672 miles) of roads.
Pothole Repair
- Potholes in roads are formed as a result of poor drainage (due to clay soils) and freeze/thaw cycles. In the winter, temporary "cold patch" materials are used to fill the potholes to make the road safe. Once "hot mix" asphalt plants open in the spring (usually mid-April), repairs are completed using "hot mix" asphalt.
- If you find a pothole, please call 311 and give us a brief description (including the location) so we can schedule the repair as soon as possible.
Road Rehabilitation
- The Road Rehabilitation Program is responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the existing road network. It includes road resurfacing (mill and pave), concrete panel repairs, and total road reconstruction projects.
- For upcoming road rehabilitation projects, see the Construction page.
Curb & Gutter Maintenance
- The City of Windsor has an ongoing maintenance program, which includes repairing and replacing curb and gutter throughout the city.
- Curb and gutter is also replaced as part of the City's Road Rehabilitation and Sewer Programs.
- For upcoming curb and gutter reconstruction projects, see the Construction page.
Shoulder Grading
- Shoulder grading is carried out twice per year on all rural cross section roads. In addition, City crews monitor and repair shoulders on an as-needed basis throughout the city.
- To report a shoulder that requires grading, please call 311.
