HIGH FIVE®
The City of Windsor Recreation Department is proud to be accredited through HIGH FIVE®, Canada’s quality standard for children’s recreation and sport. This nationally recognized program ensures that every child who participates in our activities has a positive, safe, and developmentally appropriate experience.
HIGH FIVE® focuses on five key principles: caring adult, friends, play, mastery, and participation—which guide how we design, deliver, and evaluate all of our children’s programs. Through ongoing staff training, program assessments, and a commitment to continuous improvement, we ensure our recreation environments support healthy child development and meaningful engagement.
As part of our accreditation, all staff working with children receive HIGH FIVE® training, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to create supportive, inclusive, and fun experiences. Families can feel confident knowing that our programs meet national standards and prioritize children’s well-being.

As an accredited provider, the Corporation of the City of Windsor's Recreation Department ensures staff are fully trained in HIGH FIVE® principles and that programs are regularly assessed to meet national best practices.
