City Hall Square Plaza and Civic Esplanade

All great cities have great outdoor civic spaces. These spaces help build and reinforce the community that uses them. They are a draw for public discourse, community events, official ceremonies and leisurely enjoyment. The City is committed to looking towards the future and continuing to find ways to improve our community, and this project is just one of those improvements.

Thanks to civic and external stakeholder comments and involvement, the consultant lead proposal for the design of City Hall Square and the Civic Esplanade has now been completed. We thank you for your time and participation in helping to shape the future of this stimulating urban space for the downtown of the city of Windsor. It is with pride and excitement that the consultant, FORREC, along with City administration invite you to review the proposed development prior to its formal endorsement at the May 29 Council meeting:

The design will be presented with a series of informative boards describing the proposed details on Monday, May 8, 2023, in Room 204, 350 City Hall Square West from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. A brief visual presentation by FORREC will commence at 4:30 p.m.
