Playgrounds

Windsor continues to invest in parks across the city through its ongoing Playground Replacement Program, with 35 parks scheduled for renewal over 2026–2027, along with a new destination playground at Lanspeary Park.

Public consultation has been completed, and feedback is being reviewed and incorporated into the design of these projects. Construction is anticipated to begin as early as fall 2026, with the first projects targeted for completion in summer 2027.

Updates will be provided as designs are finalized and projects progress. For general comments or questions, please contact 311.

Playground Replacement Program (2026–2027)

Windsor is replacing 35 aging playgrounds across the city as part of a Council-approved multi-year program. These improvements will include new playground equipment, updated layouts, and rubber surfacing, consistent with recent playground upgrades across Windsor.

Design work is now underway using input received through public consultation.

Lanspeary Park Super Playground

A new destination playground is planned for Lanspeary Park as part of the approved master plan. This larger playground will serve families from across the city and is expected to be approximately twice the size of the playground at Riverside Baseball Park (Miracle Park).

Design work is now underway using input received through public consultation. Construction is anticipated to begin as early as fall 2026, with completion targeted in 2027.

Optimist Memorial Park Playground

A large new accessible playground is planned for Optimist Memorial Park, with construction anticipated to begin in spring 2026 and completion targeted for summer 2026.

Public consultation for this project has been completed, and feedback is being incorporated into the final design, which includes a nature-themed concept.
