Michael D. Hurst Legacy Park

Michael D. Hurst Legacy Park Streetcar facility
620 Riverside Drive West

The Michael D. Hurst Legacy Park is a newly unveiled public space along Windsor’s waterfront. It is named in honour of former Mayor Michael D. Hurst, who served from 1992 to 2003 and played a pivotal role in transforming Windsor’s industrial waterfront into nearly five kilometres of accessible green space stretching from the Ambassador Bridge to Hiram Walker & Sons Ltd.

The park features the Legacy Beacon, home to Streetcar No. 351, a significant artifact in Windsor’s transportation history. Guided tours of Streetcar No. 351 are available during opening hours. The streetcar sits beside a 10,000-square-foot patio offering food and beverage service, including licensed drinks. From the patio, visitors can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Detroit River, making it a perfect spot to relax, take in the scenery, and appreciate Windsor’s vibrant waterfront.
