Compliance with Ontario Regulation 25 23
City of Windsor Corporate Energy Initiative in Compliance with Ontario Regulation 25/23
Ontario Regulation 25/23 enacted under the Electricity Act, 1998 requires municipalities and the broader public sector including universities, colleges, schools and hospitals to develop, implement and make available to the public energy conservation and demand management plans.
The Energy Conservation and Demand Management Plan in compliance with the Ontario Regulation 25/23 (formerly 507/18) is composed of the following two parts:
- An annual report (on or before July 1 in each year) of energy use and green house gas emissions (GHG). This data is to be posted online with the Ministry of Energy and locally on the municipality’s corporate website.
- A description of previous, current and proposed measures for conserving and otherwise reducing the amount of energy consumed by the public agency’s operations and for managing the public agency’s demand for energy, including a forecast of the expected results of current and proposed measures. The Energy Management Plan 2024-2028 was approved by City Council on June 10, 2024, to be published on or before July 1, 2024, and on or before every fifth anniversary thereafter on the municipality’s corporate website: City of Windsor Energy Management Plan 2024-2028.
