Live at The Square Returns for 2026!
Live at The Square returns to City Hall Square this September for four evenings of free live music in the heart of downtown Windsor!
With generous support from Enbridge Fueling Futures, the City of Windsor is pleased to bring the popular concert series back for 2026. This year, Live at The Square will take place on Thursday evenings from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., beginning September 10 and continuing for four consecutive weeks.
Each evening will showcase local talent and bring music, culture and community to City Hall Square. Residents and visitors are invited to stop by, enjoy a free performance and experience downtown Windsor’s civic gathering space.
Live at The Square celebrates the richness and creativity of Windsor-Essex’s music scene, with a focus on supporting local performers and creating inclusive, accessible opportunities for the community to come together.
The series also supports the goals of the Strengthen the Core: Downtown Windsor Revitalization Plan by contributing to place-making and creating a vibrant downtown that attracts residents, visitors, businesses and investment.

Perform Live at The Square!
The City of Windsor invites local musicians to apply for the Live at The Square free weekly concert series. We’re looking for musicians from Windsor-Essex who are ready to help us bring the heart of downtown to life through music, culture, and community spirit. Whether you're an emerging artist or an established local favourite, we want to hear from you!
Who Can Apply
To be eligible for participation, performers must:
- Be based in Windsor-Essex County:
- For duos: at least one member must reside in Windsor-Essex;
- For groups/bands: at least 50% of members must reside in Windsor-Essex;
- Perform content that is respectful, inclusive, and suitable for an all-ages public audience; and
- Agree to sign an artist agreement and waiver.

Honorarium
All selected artists will be compensated. Solo performers will receive a $300 honorarium, with additional funds for duos and groups (for up to 5 performers total).
When and Where
Live performances take place Thursday evenings from September 10, 2026 to October 1, 2026, with two-hour sets at City Hall Square Plaza. Please check the City of Windsor website, Facebook, and Instagram for artist and time announcements.
Weather Policy
Live at The Square is an outdoor event and is subject to weather conditions. In the event of rain or severe weather, performances may be cancelled for the safety of performers, staff and attendees.
Any cancellations or event updates will be shared through the City of Windsor's website and social media channels.
