Through Staff Development and career planning, we endeavour to improve capabilities and competencies of our workforce and maintain a vital succession of management, professional, and skills talent. The Human Resources Department partners with a host of community organizations including University of Windsor, St. Clair College, W.E.S.T., Women's Incentive Centre, Canadian Mental Health Association, and United Way.
This department also promotes mental health and wellness activities, in conjunction with our Employee Family Assistance Program, for all corporate employees and our retirees.
Services
In addition to the above, the Human Resources Department of the Corporation of the City of Windsor works with City Council, all departments and many community organizations to provide employment services and corporate training services.
The Human Resources Department offers its multi-faceted services to its employees and their families during and after their employment with the Corporation.
The Corporation maintains relations with its four bargaining units: its outside workers, CUPE Local 82; its inside workers, CUPE Local 543; the Registered Nurses who work at Huron Lodge, Home for the Aged ONA Local 8 (Ontario Nurses' Association) and WPFFA (Windsor Professional Fire Fighters Association), as well as CANUE (Civic Association of Non-Union Employees), the Non-Union Association.
In keeping current with human resources management initiatives and technological change, the HR Team is comprised of specialists and generalists in all human resource services/functions.
