Proposed Walkerville Heritage Conservation District Plan

Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. O.18, Section 41.1(6)(b)

Take notice that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Windsor will hold a statutory public meeting regarding the proposed Walkerville Heritage Conservation District (WHCD) Plan (the Plan), pursuant to Section 41.1(6)(b) of the Ontario Heritage Act. The statutory public meeting will provide an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the final proposed Heritage Conservation District Plan, Guidelines, and Property Inventory before recommendations are presented to the Development & Heritage Standing Committee and City Council for consideration.

Date: Tuesday, September 15, 2026
Time: 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Location: Willistead Manor, Saltmarche Gallery (Second Floor)
1899 Niagara Street, Windsor, Ontario

Purpose of the Meeting

The City and its heritage consultants will:

• Present the final draft Walkerville Heritage Conservation District Plan and Design Guidelines;
• Present the final draft Property Inventory, including the heritage contribution status of properties within the proposed district;
• Outline the next steps for the Walkerville Heritage Conservation District Project; and
• Receive comments on the Plan.

Members of the public may provide comments through oral representations at the meeting or by submitting written comments. Written submissions regarding the proposed Heritage Conservation District Plan may continue to be provided to Council at any time before the by-law adopting the Plan is passed.
